Elio Ruscetta

Hey!

I am Elio, I come from a lovely place by the seaside in Italy and I have been in England for 15 years now.
I have been freelancing and assisting on various projects and shoots for the past 10 years. I have extensive experience both on location and within a studio environment. I also shoot by my own work which focuses primarily on still-life and food.
I have worked with a wide range of photographers such as Julia Fullerton Batten, Kelvin Murray, Levon Biss on a number of different shoots, working in advertising, corporate, still life, editorial, commercial and lifestyle. I have gained a huge amount of knowledge and experience during my time assisting, and am incredibly confident working with an array of different camera and lighting systems, and I am able to apply the knowledge and the skills I have learnt to any shoot. I have extensive knowledge of file treatment, colour management and post production, and how to prepare files to a professional standard, whether that be for print or viewed digitally.

I understand the importance of working quickly, professionally, and efficiently during a shoot, and work relentlessly to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible, and to anticipate and meet the photographer and client’s needs.

I have extensive experience using Profoto, Elinchrom, Broncolor and Bowens lighting kits, and am able to supply technical help throughout the shoot to ensure that all equipment runs efficiently.

I am also a good retoucher, have a clean European driving license and am available to travel further afield from London if required.

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile, and please check out my website to see a selection of my work.

Feel free to contact me at any time.

I look forward to working together in the future!

Tom Hanslien

Born in Trondheim, Norway’s 3rd largest town, I was raised in a small town called Namsos a bit further up the Norwegian coast. After my happy years at school I started my studies of drawing and graphic design. It was through these studies that I was introduced to photography - and this changed the course of my further studies. The journey then went to England, and Kent Institute of Art & Design in Maidstone, where I obtained a BA (Hons) degree in photography. Then there was no way around it - I had to go back to Norway to do my National Military Service and ended up in the Norwegian Navy. 12 months later, when the Navy finally let me go, I again packed my toothbrush and left for England. Having assisted various advertising photographers for six years in London I have now started to undertake my own photography commissions.

Gordon Jackson

I've been working as a Lighting, camera and digital assistant for over 4 years and previous to that I worked in a rental department for 2 years.

I've worked with many agencies, photographers and production companies over the past 4 years on an array of shoots from ecom to advertising for a wide and diverse clientele.

I'm a calm and level headed person who works well under pressure. I'm able to communicate well and understand what my role is in assisting photographers to complete a successful shoot.

The skills I've acquired over the years have made me more than competent with lighting equipment and I'm able to understand a lighting brief and hire/use the right tools to achieve the desired look.

Likewise with a digital workflow, I can provide a full digital kit package and make sure that all files from camera to computer are organised, graded and outputted to the requirements of the client, ready for retouch.

Useful things I own include:

Full Clean Driving Licence
VW T6 LWB Van
Broncolor A4 Gratit with Ringflash and Pulso heads
Macbook Pros (Thundebolt 2 and 3) with all the bits!!
Monitor (Eizo and Dell)
Inovativ Pro Ultra Kit
Think Tank Production 50 Case

and rarer things like common sense!!

Chris has a lot of experiance in: digital, still life, food, people, above/below the line advertising, corporate annual reports, locations near & far, editorial, room sets, cars, tv production stills, a bit of fashion, a bit of beauty, reportage, and even weddings!!!

Equipment? All the usual suspects from 35mm to 10x8. Digital SLRS, Leaf , Sinar, Imacon, Mac.

Bruce Horak

I’ve been working in the photographic industry since 2008. In that time I’ve held both freelance and full time positions as a photo assistant, digital operator, studio manager and production manager. I am a Phase One Certified Professional and equally experienced and capable with lighting and digital work.

Before moving to London in 2015 I was based between South Africa and Germany.
Over the years I have worked on projects across all genres from still life studio shoots to on location outdoor projects in difficult environments. I most enjoy advertising, portraiture, lifestyle, travel and documentary work. I’m can provide a list of references on request.

This is summary of the equipment I have most experience with:

CAMERA:
Phase One (Certified Professional). Hasselblad. Canon. Nikon. Sony. Mamiya. Pentax

DIGITAL:
Capture One (Certified Professional). Lightroom. Photoshop. Bridge. Mac OS. Wacom graphics tablet

LIGHTING:
Strobe lighting including Profoto. Broncolor. Briese. Elinchrom…
Constant lighting including HMI. Tungsten. Kino flow. LED’s. Dedo light…

EQUIPMENT RENTAL:
I can provide a digital capture location kit including: Macbook Pro Retina. Eizo Monitor. Workcase + Tripod. Hyperjuice Battery. Tether cables. Wacom graphics tablet.
I also have Camera Kit (Nikon D850 + lenses) available.

I believe that doing my job well allows a photographer to put more of their energy into making great pictures while knowing that the technical details and everything outside the viewfinder is taken care of - whether its lighting, digital workflow or logistics. My priority is making sure images are safe and up to standard but thats just where the job starts. I’ve hauled gear up snowy mountains in Switzerland, camping overnight to catch the sunrise. I’ve held back traffic in the hectic streets of Maputo and held onto photographers while they hang out of moving cars descending mountain passes on Mallorca. I’m happy making coffee for clients in studio or making sure everyones getting enough water when its 40C in the Namibian desert. I can handle a 12 x 12 scrim in Cape Town’s fierce south easterly wind or stay up through the night preparing images for a deadline…its all part of the job and with 10 years in the business you can trust me to do it well.

Please feel free to give me call if you'd like to discuss any projects or have any questions. Thanks
