I've been working as a Lighting, camera and digital assistant for over 4 years and previous to that I worked in a rental department for 2 years. I've worked with many agencies, photographers and production companies over the past 4 years on an array of shoots from ecom to advertising for a wide and diverse clientele. I'm a calm and level headed person who works well under pressure. I'm able to communicate well and understand what my role is in assisting photographers to complete a successful shoot. The skills I've acquired over the years have made me more than competent with lighting equipment and I'm able to understand a lighting brief and hire/use the right tools to achieve the desired look. Likewise with a digital workflow, I can provide a full digital kit package and make sure that all files from camera to computer are organised, graded and outputted to the requirements of the client, ready for retouch. Useful things I own include: Full Clean Driving Licence VW T6 LWB Van Broncolor A4 Gratit with Ringflash and Pulso heads Macbook Pros (Thundebolt 2 and 3) with all the bits!! Monitor (Eizo and Dell) Inovativ Pro Ultra Kit Think Tank Production 50 Case and rarer things like common sense!!

I have assisted over 30 photographers since going full time freelance in 2012. Various kit available to hire from me direct at competitive rates (calibrated monitor/computer/laptop/Ellinchrom/Canon 5DS/Canon lenses etc). Equally at home as an ideas-bouncer or silent butler type, usually I end up as a bit of both. I can do lighting, digi, BTS stills, the lunch run, and everything in between. If you need me to know about specific kit, just ask and I'll let you know if I've had experience with it before. If I can't personally help, I'll always try to pass you on to somebody that can. Matthew Booth says: "Josh has worked with me for some time now. I use him as a reliable and highly adept assistant. He is an excellent photographer himself, producing high quality images with a creative flair. I would recommend him to anyone." Matthew Beedle says: "I recently hired Josh whilst I was one armed for a few weeks after a cycling accident and did not regret it. He was knowledgeable, creative, punctual and willing to work on each project as if it was his own. I would highly recommend Josh for any assisting work at a range of levels. Thanks again." Nicola Schafer says: "Josh did a great job assisting me on a photo shoot last year. He was prompt, helpful, and able to know what was required without needing to be asked. He had all the practical skills required from an assistant and he is also a highly skilled and extremely creative photographer. I recommend him highly and would hire him again." PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY Clients include: Adidas; Aram Gallery; British Museum; Canary Wharf; Compare The Market; Christie's; David Roberts Art Foundation; Estonian Embassy; GQ Magazine; Julius Baer (Swiss Bank); Sky TV; Studio Moross; Virgin; WIRED Magazine.

*Please call or email rather than text* Hi all, if you are reading this you may be interested in me assisting you on a shoot, which is great! The first thing I should mention is that I am a full time photographer in my own right (www.lensi.co.uk) so you may be asking why I would assist another photographer on a shoot? Well, why not? I have colleagues that assist me often and it suits me to do the same for others during the times I do not have my own shoots or I am not teaching. I come with a range of experience in setting up lighting, Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign, photography, being a digital assistant and so on. I have been full time since 2011 and part time for a few years before that, before giving my full time job up; as such I also have a range of equipment from lenses, boom arms, bodies, portable lighting, too much to mention here that can also be hired in addition to me assisting on shoot, where I will arrive with energy, enthusiasm and knowledge! Feel free to call, email, insta, facebook and all those other ways we now communicate (but please not texts, I do not always carry my work phone with me to receive texts, but calls are forwarded) if you would like to speak to me about your project.

I’ve been lucky enough to have travled extensively as an assistant and have just returned from South Africa where I was working on a Getty shoot with Rob Daly and Chris Newton. I used to work profesionaly with race horses (and I still own my own horse)

Bruce Horak

I’ve been working in the photographic industry since 2008. In that time I’ve held both freelance and full time positions as a photo assistant, digital operator, studio manager and production manager. I am a Phase One Certified Professional and equally experienced and capable with lighting and digital work. Before moving to London in 2015 I was based between South Africa and Germany. Over the years I have worked on projects across all genres from still life studio shoots to on location outdoor projects in difficult environments. I most enjoy advertising, portraiture, lifestyle, travel and documentary work. I’m can provide a list of references on request. This is summary of the equipment I have most experience with: CAMERA: Phase One (Certified Professional). Hasselblad. Canon. Nikon. Sony. Mamiya. Pentax DIGITAL: Capture One (Certified Professional). Lightroom. Photoshop. Bridge. Mac OS. Wacom graphics tablet LIGHTING: Strobe lighting including Profoto. Broncolor. Briese. Elinchrom… Constant lighting including HMI. Tungsten. Kino flow. LED’s. Dedo light… EQUIPMENT RENTAL: I can provide a digital capture location kit including: Macbook Pro Retina. Eizo Monitor. Workcase + Tripod. Hyperjuice Battery. Tether cables. Wacom graphics tablet. I also have Camera Kit (Nikon D850 + lenses) available. I believe that doing my job well allows a photographer to put more of their energy into making great pictures while knowing that the technical details and everything outside the viewfinder is taken care of - whether its lighting, digital workflow or logistics. My priority is making sure images are safe and up to standard but thats just where the job starts. I’ve hauled gear up snowy mountains in Switzerland, camping overnight to catch the sunrise. I’ve held back traffic in the hectic streets of Maputo and held onto photographers while they hang out of moving cars descending mountain passes on Mallorca. I’m happy making coffee for clients in studio or making sure everyones getting enough water when its 40C in the Namibian desert. I can handle a 12 x 12 scrim in Cape Town’s fierce south easterly wind or stay up through the night preparing images for a deadline…its all part of the job and with 10 years in the business you can trust me to do it well. Please feel free to give me call if you'd like to discuss any projects or have any questions
