(AOP) Can you tell us about the studio and how they came about?

Kinetics Group have actually been trading as a successful events agency for over 25 years but we've been looking to grow and diversify our offering to clients. We’ve had plans to build a few studios for sometime but when the pandemic hit in March 2020 and all events stopped overnight we took it as the catalyst to get straight onto building the first studio. The studio was designed with the help of various clients who provided information on how they used studios and what they would like to see, so you could say the studio was designed by clients for the use of clients. The build itself was mostly done by our internal team, friends and family so it was literally ‘all hands to the pump’. The studio was opened on 8 June 2020 and the first clients to use it were Honda (long-standing client of Kinetics). Since then we’ve had most of the car and bike industry come through the big roller doors, however it’s still early days so we’d love to see some new faces visit our studio.

(AOP) What facilities do you offer to make you a state-of-the-art studio space?

As we designed the studio ourselves it gave us the perfect opportunity to build it exactly how we wanted and of course in the best way to serve our clients. The studio itself is the largest infinity cove in the Midlands at 9000ft² and the only studio with full air conditioning both in the studio space and also the client facilities. It also has a full electric remote controlled floating ceiling which can hold up to 10 tonnes should you wish to hang anything unusual from it. From the outside it has a very convenient covered parking area so even in the worse weather you won’t get wet getting from your car to the reception, and with the rise in electric cars it also has charging points under that same covered parking space. Once you are through our Covid safe reception with our thermal temperature monitoring unit and hand sanitiser a plenty, you find yourself in the most luxurious client lounge which has been made to feel like a high-end boutique hotel, featuring a 75” Samsung smart TV with full Sonos surround sound, 1gb dedicated Fibre line and many data points, a fully stocked complimentary hospitality refreshment area and meeting room. Overlooking the main studio with its massive gallery window there’s a separate production office with an abundance of power and data outlets.

(AOP) What sets you apart from other studios?

We are a family run business that truly believes in the very best customer service, we have the perfect blend of hospitality and functionality. It was built from ground up so we were able to design it with a balance for ease of production as well as client comfort. We had no restraints on us, we built with no compromise, every decision we took was with the customer experience at the forefront. Not only is Kinetics Space the largest infinity cove in the Midlands but is set in a very quiet and private part of Corby, it have easy access to the A1 and M1 and a local train station that’s only 1 mile away but it means you are out of the way from busy roads and prying eyes (even more so when you come through our full height security gates). Should you need a mix of studio and location shoots, we’re perfectly placed near picturesque villages, amazing country roads and even local race circuits and off road facilities which we have used many times before.

(AOP) What measures do you have in place for shooting during Covid-19
As per the announcement from Boris, productions can continue to operate during these restrictions provided you have an APA registered representative, be it in a studio or on location, but please note we are not taking the situation lightly. Here at Kinetics Group, it’s business as usual, and our number one priority is the safety of our staff, and the clients we welcome through our doors under the supervision of our APA approved COVID supervisor. We have an extensive COVID policy, are monitoring government guidelines daily, and have made a number of investments in order to continue to be able to support our clients in providing a platform for their projects. These include thermal scanning units, extensive and regular sanitising of the facility, and the option of rapid COVID tests for all staff and clients on arrival to the studio, so you can work with your colleagues in the comfort of knowing you have all tested negative that morning.

(AOP) What does it mean to you to be a member of the AOP ?

We became a member of the AOP to primarily support photographers and image making but also filming and film productions as well as live events, virtual conferences and product launches. We are passionate about creativity and wanted to build a space that’s flexible enough to let photographers do what they’re best at….capturing images/moments that stir emotions. We would welcome anyone associated with the AOP who wanted to come in and just have a coffee, chat and take a look at our lovely studio. So, give us a call on 01536 333977, send an email to hello@kineticsgroup.co.uk or visit www.kineticsgroup.co.uk and see what we can do for you.
