Managing Director Kingsley Marten leaves AOP

20 December 2012

It is with regret that the Board announces Kingsley Marten’s departure from the Association of Photographers Ltd on Friday 21 December.

Kingsley has been Managing Director and Chief Executive since August 2007 and was hired to turn the Association’s fortunes around following a succession of losses over many years.

He joined the Association at a critical time and ensured support from its bankers and members and was then able to transform the organisation so that it could report four surpluses over the following five years, despite the effects of the recession. At the same time he developed the Association’s top level activities and benefits to members. Most recently and in addition to a the day-to-day Association activities and events, Kingsley was empowered by the members to lead the sale of the Association’s premises in Leonard Street which then sold for an impressive price, enabling the Association to purchase its new headquarters and transform the building into the Association’s stunning new premises at 21 Downham Road, London N1. Kingsley’s final delivery to the Association was to manage the development and launch of a new website showcasing members’ work, the work of the Association and helping to educate those who want to know more about professional photography and how it operates within the industry.

We would like to wish Kingsley every good fortune for his future and we would like to thank him for all the time and the considerable energy he has given to the Association since his arrival.
