Photographer Overview

GOLD Winner of AOP Moving Image with my film 'Jura - Deer Island'

Born and raised in Nottingham, my love of photography started when my mum bought me a second-hand Yashica Twin Lens Reflex Camera on the Newark Market for £40 in an attempt to stop me constantly fishing the banks of the River Trent.

It worked (sort of) and I spent many days cycling across Nottinghamshire, photographing the countryside in an attempt to emulate two of my photographic heroes Bill Brandt and Fay Godwin.

I left school at 16 and cut my teeth as a YTS boy in Nottingham as an assistant, photographing pork pies, net curtains and Raleigh bikes - all great products of that fair City.

Not wanting to spend the rest of my life in an industrial unit in darkness I decided to go back to college and gained a place at Newcastle Art College.

After graduating from Art School, ! immediately began working for myself, mainly for editorial clients and then increasingly for design and advertising. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to work for some of the biggest brands in the UK and Europe, and my work has taken me to every corner of the UK and beyond.

Fast forward 30 years and I am blessed that I still doing the job that I love. Having built up a wealth of knowledge and skill over those years as well as Stills Photography I now also Direct and Produce Motion.
