Photographer Overview
Seamus Ryan's photography reflects his passion for people and the portrait genre. His strong lighting skills ensure a steady flow of celebrity portrait commissions as well as bold character work. He has worked on countless advertising campaigns, editorial commissions and theatre posters over a twenty year career. From 2006-2017 Seamus held weekly portrait sessions for the public in his Columbia Road Flower Market Studio. The project, called Sunday Shoots, is a vivid record of the spirit and diversity of the thousands who took part in these experimental photo shoots.
Seamus is also founder and director of the Republic of Photography, an experiential company that brings innovative photographic experiences and content to brand activations and events. It is also home to his unique range of bespoke photo booths and pods. The Rop also have permanent photo booths in Rough Trade stores in London and New York.
He has been awarded by The Association of Photographers and D&AD for his work and has work included in the National Portrait Gallery's permanent collection.
