Photographer Overview

Ed’s an award-winning adventure, lifestyle and landscape photographer who specialises in getting the right shots – no matter how hostile the environment or tight the brief.

He’s shot in sub-zero gales ripping across the mountains. He’s photographed deep and isolated river gorges only accessible via white water kayak. He’s recorded mountain races, running endurance distances with camera gear in his pack. And every time, he’s brought back the right shots for his client’s brief.
Ed’s equally at home in the processing room and exhibition space – whether managing the print process for his fine art prints, curating exhibits or running his own gallery.

He credits his appetite for adventure photography to spending his formative years whitewater kayaking around the world – and recording the journey. Ed says, “I didn’t know it at the time, but hauling loaded kayaks through gorges and even up mountains was the foundation of my approach to adventure photography. It taught me to keep my humour, stay focused and be creative behind the camera – even if I’m hauling my gear through deep snow or searing heat.”

Ed lives in Scotland and is based out of his gallery in Kingussie, Eleven41 – though he’ll travel anywhere in the world to get the shot.
