Sue is the selected Gold Winner for the 2021 AOP Emerging Talent Award.

Sue specialises in painterly, botanical still life imagery using floral creations to communicate her allegorical observations, humour and at times despondency . Oakford harness's the natural beauty of chiaroscuro light, reminiscent of the Dutch masters, conjures colours and natures presence to produce symbolic representations of feelings and thoughts of life events. Her images hanker back to the days of dark and shadow using natural light to create atmosphere and depth and provide conjure allegorical themes within our times – telling stories and feelings about today.

Sue was selected to be part of the 2021/2022 ‘Best of Show Curatorial Selection’ at the International Photography Awards and awarded a 2nd place overall in the Still life Category for her limited-edition image of ‘Gin & Tonic’.
Additionally, she was awarded two Category Honourable Mentions at the 2021, 17th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards for her landscape and still life images and also awarded a ‘Finalist Artist’ and Honourable Mentions in the Still Life, International Garden Photographer of the Year 2020 & 2021.
Other international awards such as Monochrome International Photography 2020 & 2021 and the Fine Art Chromatic Colour 2020 have also recognised Sue’s work.

She continues ongoing training at the Putney School of Art & Design. She is a Licentiate member of the RPS, an Associate member of the Association of Photographers as well as an active member of The London Independent Photographers Group and has joined Shutterhub and She Clicks. She has contributed to a number of exhibitions with the aforementioned groups.
