BA Professional Photography course is validated by Gray’s School of Art at Robert Gordon University and is designed to develop a broad range of skills in contemporary art and commissioned photography. Based in the historic city of Edinburgh with a reputation for excellence this award winning course is unique to Scotland, gaining accreditation by the Association of Photographers (AOP) and approved affiliation by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP).
Our ethos is to combine creative thinking, concept generation, cultural awareness, technical excellence and production skills to achieve success in an ever-changing environment. Teaching and learning focusses on photography as a profession and professional practice. Students are encouraged to develop their own voice in photography through self-directed personal projects, commissions, collaboration, building networks and engaging in publication and exhibitions. We host guest lectures from leading industry practitioners from the world of art and commerce. This course is benchmarked by the achievements of our graduates, many of whom are multi-award winners in national and international photography competitions. Our most successful graduates go on to work in the creative Industries with renowned commissioners and photographers in the UK and internationally.
