Photographer Overview
Richard Glover has been making pictures of buildings since he first arrived in London and realised that in a city full of specialists, he needed to concentrate on what he did best. In the 25-plus years since then he has photographed many different kinds of architecture, from projects that are rigorously minimalist to those that play inventively with colour, materials and the vernacular. What continues to drive Richard's practice is an interest in documenting the very best new architecture. In doing so, his intent is always to help the designer communicate their ideas, and to affect an audience with thoughtful, striking and surprising images.
Richard is based in Sydney but maintains strong links with London, where he and his family lived for over ten years. Regular travel between these two locations has enabled him to build lasting relationships with many of Australia's and the UK's leading architectural and interior design practices. Being able to offer regular proximity to both European and Asia-Pacific locations means that Richard can also photograph projects beyond Australia and the UK – in recent years, he has worked in Switzerland, Italy, Japan and Thailand. In addition to being directly commissioned by designers, Richard also supplies architectural images to the general and specialist press, working with magazines, books, websites and online journals.
