Photographer Overview
For me, every photograph is a journey. Be it capturing the landscapes and people of South Africa, shadowing a CEO in their boardroom, recording key moments at the Olympics or paying homage to my friends and neighbours in Shoreditch, I am always thinking “I want to get to know you”.
Having studied editorial and advertising photography, I set up my studio (Ben Fisher Photography) in London in 2003. I have built a diverse client base over the last decade, including large international corporates (such as Britvic, Pepsi and Lanson), boutique fashion brands, travel companies and private portraiture commissions. I am also the accredited photographer for Tate Britain and Tate Modern.
Prior to launching my own studio, I spent seven years assisting some of the world’s most acclaimed people photographers. Portraiture remains a focus of my work and I have photographed many iconic figures from the arts, politics and sport.
Although London-based, I travel regularly for overseas commissions. Recent locations include Paris and Miami and the Caribbean. I will be working in Brazil in late May/early June 2013.
My work has appeared in TIME magazine, The Telegraph and The Sunday Times, as well as in various books, calendars, posters and annual reports. I have also exhibited in a number of galleries and I was shortlisted for The Association of Photographers Iconic Awards.
