AOP Students Awards 2011

This year is the 30th anniversary of the AOP Students Awards.

Originally founded in 1981, this particular competition is solely dedicated to finding and promoting the best photographic talent coming out of the UKs Further and Higher Education institutions. The Students Awards showcase a diverse and inspirational selection of work by the countries most promising students and acts as a platform in which they can demonstrate their photographic creativity and skill.

The Students Awards reputation has steadily grown over the years and is now regarded as one of the UKs leading student photographic awards programmes. Entering the competition is considered a pre-requisite for anyone wishing to pursue a career in commercial photography, and the recognition gained from being selected to feature in the exhibition and book is second to none. Receiving a Merit or Student Photographer of the Year Award is regarded by many within the industry as the first step to a successful and prestigious career. Previous winners of the AOP Students Awards have gone on to win both the AOP Assistants Awards as well as the AOP Photographers Awards.

There are four categories - Lifestyle & Portraiture; Fashion & Beauty; Landscape, Interiors & Exteriors and Still Life. Students are called to enter challenging, creative pieces of work that push the boundaries of photography and are rich in flair and technical ability. This year the AOP are proud to present a selection of astounding work that is of the highest calibre, The Students Awards Winners of 2011.
